Sustainability

At Cnapan we are doing our part to operate in a sustainable and responsible manner.
We try to run the business in a low impact way, so as to minimise our waste and  minimise our carbon footprint.

Recycling
  • We have set ourselves the target of recycling over 80% of our waste.                                              We currently recycle all glass, paper, plastics and food waste.
  • We have tried to minimise the use of  plastics by having filtered water in the rooms, glass yoghurt pots for breakfast and refillable shampoo and conditioner bottles.
  • We now use loose leaf tea and ground coffee for breakfast, these are then dried and used as compost for the garden
  • We have four waterbutts that collect enough rainwater, to sustain all of our flower boxes and hanging baskets.

Wildlife
  • We have adopted the "no mow in May" to the lower part of our garden lawn, trying to help and encourage pollinators.

Food
  • We try to source the majority of ingredients for our breakfasts locally.                                             Our meats are from T G Davies Newport, Milk from Carningli Dairy Newport, Eggs from   Briscwm farm Cardigan.

Transport

  • We encourage guests to "leave the car" when they stay with us and set out on foot or use the excellent bus service. Or alternatively use our ebikes, which are available for hire.
