Newport Bay & Parrog - Cnapan Restaurant and Bed & Breakfast, B and B accommodation, Newport Pembrokeshire West Wales

Many varied interests and activities are right here on Cnapan’s doorstep.  Without taking the car you can be on Parrog beach in ten minutes with its estuary, rock pools and boats and on the expanse of Newport Sands (Traeth Mawr) within 20 minutes.

There you can pick up the Pembrokeshire National Park coastal path and walk towards Dinas Head and Cwm-yr-Eglwys with its ruined church on the beach, or you can walk north towards Ceibwr Bay and see some of the most spectacular cliff formations in the country.

For a change you may want to walk inland (again, no need for the car) following the ancient Pilgrims’ Way along the secluded wooded banks of the River Nevern to St Brynach’s Church, Nevern, where you will see the famous Bleeding Yew and ancient Celtic Cross. Take advantage of our local Poppit Rocket - a shuttle minibus which takes walkers to various points along the coastpath. Pembrokeshire Greenways.

Going inland again you may choose to discover the historic seclusion of the enchanting Gwaun Valley or the rolling grandeur of the Preseli Hills home to Pentre Ifan burial chamber, Carn Ingli (Mountain of the Angels) and Carn Meini, source of the Stonehenge Bluestones.

Again, close to us at Cnapan, you will find the full range of more active holiday pursuits like pony trekking, bike hire, canoeing, sailing, windsurfing, bird spotting, tennis, golf at the new 18 hole course and much much more. The area has attracted more than its share of talented artists and craftspeople hosting many galleries, potteries, woodturning workshops, candle makers, sculptors and more besides.

Should you wish to savour the many musical delights on offer, Newport has a very active Music Society with concerts throughout the year, larger concerts and festivals are hosted by St David’s Cathedral and Fishguard has its own famous Music Festival in July.   Cardigan’s Theatre Mwldan and Rhos y Gilwen offer varied programmes all  year.

We are sure that whatever the weather or time of year, you will find so much to do here that you will want to return time and time again.”
